The aim of this project is to explore new and innovative approaches to both student and staff engagement, using a Design Thinking pedagogical framework. Engagement in this context, will be exploring creative-thinking concepts in teaching and secondly, using the classroom as an active design

studio for designing effective active learning experiences for students within their curriculum.

The project will explore the transformation of engagement practices (from both staff and student

perspectives) inside and outside the curriculum using innovative design thinking practices. Initial workshops and seminars for teaching staff will highlight how the principles of design thinking can be applied in teaching practice.

Organisers:

The goal of these workshops being to facilitate transformational change in

the way teaching staff develop a collaborative learning and teaching approach through co-creation and

co-design with students.

By exploring the visualisation of design thinking approaches to learning & teaching, we anticipate desirable changes in the way teaching staff interact with students, and likewise how students interact and collaborate with staff and their peers (hence the E4 title, staff to staff, staff to students, students to students, and students to staff).
